Overview
Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) allows you to automate the deployment of computers in your organization.
MDT is one of the most important tools available to IT professionals today. You can use it to create reference images or as a complete deployment solution. MDT also can be used to extend the operating system deployment features available in Microsoft System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager. DC01 is a domain controller and MDT01 is a Windows Server 2012 R2 standard server. MDT01 is a member of the domain contoso.com for the fictitious Contoso Corporation.
Objectives
Assess application compatibility.
Plan and implement user state migration.
Determine an image management strategy.
Prepare for deployments using the Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit (Windows ADK).
Support PXE-initiated and multicast operating system deployments.
Implement operating system deployment by using the MDT.
Implement operating system deployment by using System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager.
Prerequisites
Networking fundamentals, including common networking protocols, topologies, hardware, media, routing, switching and addressing.
Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) principles and fundamentals of AD DS management.
Installation, configuration, and troubleshooting for Windows-based personal computers.
Basic concepts of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) security.
Basic understanding of scripting and Windows PowerShell syntax.
Target Audience
This course is intended for IT professionals who deploy, manage, and maintain PCs, devices. Typically, this course’s audience has a desktop-support background, and have worked as Enterprise Desktop Administrators.
